Welcome to the 11 November UK top ten singles!

Not only did Leona Lewis hold on to the top spot this week, she has also sold more singles in the UK this year than any other artist. Not bad considering she only released one single!

Here’s the run-down of the top ten pop singles this week:

  1. Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love: Proof that the nation hangs on Simon Cowell’s every word - we’ve been told enough times that Leona will be a global superstar. Looks like it’s starting to happen.
  2. Take That - Rule The World: Probably the best Take That song ever written. Gary Barlow and his breakdancing amigos have created a classic track and hopefully with the exposure on the Stardust soundtrack they’ll gain better International profile.
  3. Timbaland ft One Republic - Apologize: Timbaland reigns supreme yet again. The sad thing is, most people don’t realise that One Republic wrote the original song.
  4. Mark Ronson ft Amy Winehouse - Valerie: Winehouse’s chart success is a complete contrast to her personal life, which appears to be going down the toilet at an alarming rate if you believe your friendly neighbourhood tabloids.
  5. Westlife - Home: The Irish crooning sensations still have a strong position in the charts this week. Haven’t heard the track. Don’t want to.
  6. Sugababes - About You Now: This video’s been overplayed. How do I know? Because Amelle is starting to look attractive. My resistance has been worn down. Damn.
  7. Craig David - Hot Stuff (Let’s Dance): I like this. We were having breakfast in Subway at the weekend and Hot Stuff came on the radio. I instantly thought “I have to review this”, then realised that I already did…
  8. Britney Spears - Gimme More: Let’s not fool ourselves people, this song is only in the charts because of the circus freak that is Ms Spears. If getting shitfaced and pole dancing in yer fishnets is a recipe for pop success, virtually every female in Cardiff should be in the charts. (That’s according to hearsay from Charlotte Church. I love Cardiff!)
  9. Alicia Keys - No One: A strong and confident return to pop from Ms Keys. I didn’t expect it to go top ten so soon, but that goes to show that the fanbase is still there!
  10. Freemasons - Uninvited: A cracking little tune, surprised we haven’t reviewed it here, actually.
