UK Pop Chart - 3 June 2007

Hi! Thanks for visiting Unreality Music! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed for regular updates.

In case you didn’t know, we galavanted off to Spain a couple of weeks ago, leaving the Pop Chart to rot. Well, we’re back now and it doesn’t look like much has changed. Apart from Rhianna dominating the #1 spot for the last fortnight, of course. But aside from that, a lot of the bands that were in the top 10 when we left are still there!

Here we go!

  1. Rhianna ft Jay-Z - Umbrella: Rhianna holds the top spot for a third week running, despite ‘help’ from Jay-Z’s questionable rap. Excellent tune. ella ella ella hey hey hey…
  2. Mutya Buena - Real Girl: Environmentally friendly ex-Sugababe recycles old Lenny Kravitz song to fantastic effect. As we said the other day, a refreshingly honest approach to songwriting.
  3. Beyonce & Shakira - Beautiful Liar: These vixens are going to have to be surgically removed from the pop charts with this song. It was probably one of the theme songs of our holiday in Spain. Although in Spanish it sounded like they were singing Kashira instead of Shakira.
  4. Hellogoodbye - Here (In Your Arms): Novelty geek-rock track turns out to be stickier than we originally thought. Damn.
  5. Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder: Can’t get enough of this funky wee song. Don’t even bother trying to work out the lyrics, just sing along in your highest pitched voice. They’ll get it.
  6. Gym Class Heroes - Cupid’s Chokehold: Anybody want to open fire on that little cherub from the Cupid’s Chokehold video? Yeah, us too.
  7. Timbaland - Give It To Me: Feels like it’s been in the charts for years, but Give It To Me simply doesn’t get old. Cracking stuff.
  8. Twang - Either Way: Haven’t heard this one yet, but I’ve heard good things about them (I think it was Fearne Cotton or Edith Bowman on Radio 1).
  9. Calvin Harris - The Girls: ?
  10. Akon - Don’t Matter: No strong feelings either way for either Akon or this song. Anyone else find him unoriginal and bland?

Anyway, I’m off to check out the singles by Twang and Calvin Harris. CU L8R.
