Tin Pot Operation - Black Eye

I found this track on YouTube a couple of months ago. Tin Pot Operation are a band from Belfast. I’ve known the lead singer, Anto O’Kane since back our university days, so it was a pleasant surprise to come across the band (and a bit weird seeing him in a music video!)

From the opening bass riff, there’s a hint of menace in Black Eye, backed up by Anto’s aggressive Belfast accent.

Tin Pot Operation’s MySpace page describes their music as New Wave/Indie/Punk, which describes the sound of this pretty well. I’m guessing from the lyrics that there’s a political slant to the tune - “Killin’ for sorrow, killin’ for creed, killin’ for want, killin’ for need”

Anyway, check out the video for Black Eye. And if you like Tin Pot Operation, you can get some free MP3s directly from their website, just make sure you spread the word!
