Generator is going to be a massive single for The Holloways when it’s released next week.

The single was originally released last autumn and charted at #30. However, in the last couple of weeks, I’ve heard Generator all over the place. Radio 1 in particular seem to be supporting the track, so expect it to go a bit higher this time!

What of the song, you ask? Ah, it’s a quirky retro classic, one of those songs that sounds instantly familiar but isn’t. You’ve got excellent guitar sounds, meandering Doors-style keyboards. But best of all, you’ve got those excellent upbeat lyrics and irresistible harmonies - I can get a record player/and a generator/generate the sounds that make you feel better….

Generator has all the hallmarks of a summer classic. It gets a big thumbs up from me for being upbeat, original and just good fun. Definitely the kind of song to put a smile on your face….

…which is obviously their intention. Check out the video, which is cleverly set in a retirement home for circus clowns. Don’t worry, they all cheer up by the end…
