Well, here it is folks, the video for Rule The World, Take That’s proud piece of the Stardust soundtrack.
We’ve all been scratching our heads as to where this song can be found. It’s not on the Beautiful World album? Well, yes it will be. Following the trend for ripping off punters with a ‘deluxe’ version, Take That are planning to re-release Beautiful World as a deluxe edition including the much talked about track.
Needless to say, Take That lose a few points in my estimation for shamelessly ripping off their fans. Rule The World should be released as a free download for all the fans who helped them resurrect their careers in the last two years.
I bought the Beautiful World for Lisa last year when it came out. Being a big Take That fan, she was glad to have their latest release and somehow managed to remain oblivious to the mediocrity that was stamped all over the recording. I refuse to shell out yet again for the same half-assed album plus another bloody ballad.
The practice of releasing ‘deluxe’ albums is purely exploitation of the fans. Artists and record companies alike need to stop doing it. Now.
(On a related note, rule The World is predictably a ballad, albeit one of their better efforts.)
UPDATE: OK I apologise to Take That fans all over the world. Take That will be releasing Rule The World as a single, in fact you can get your copy by clicking on the image above. Lesson learned? Be careful what you say about Take That or lots of angry fans may accost you by email!

I agree with the fact that it’s evil to release “deluxe” versions of albums just a year after the original release.
But this case aint so bad, “Rule The World” will be available to download for 79p on i-tunes… or in woolies as a 1.99 single.
This song touches my hearts and everytime i hear it i cry it is amazing! Well done take that
Ah I am so glad to hear it can be downloaded as a single…all is forgiven!! i wont be buying the “deluxe” album though!!!
So they decide to be nice and add the song that all their fans like to their current album rather than making people wait forever until their next album…and they release the download…and it’s on the stardust soundtrack- but that isn’t enough for you? You have to bitch and moan about it instead. Free download? This is how they make their living, and at the end of the day there are lots of ways to get it free so I don’t see what you are harping on about.
Make us wait for the next album? They’ve made a comeback and written all these tracks over time. So bung em on a cd and sell it. I don’t like all this messing about putting one thing here and another there. I want to buy the latest songs from an artist not buy this and then download that. I won’t be bothering buying anything from then again. Waste of money just to have the ‘Patience’ track. I’ll listen to ‘Rule The World’ on MySpace for free thanks!
