Hi! Thanks for visiting Unreality Music! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed for regular updates.
The Dixie Chicks have been off my radar since 1998’s single There’s Your Trouble. They never really established themselves in the UK after that, unfortunately. Off course, a couple of years ago they hit the headlines worldwide when singer Natalie Maines openly criticised George Bush with the now infamous statement:
We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.
The Long Way Around is the lead track from their latest album after those remarks, and a number of the songs address that issue.

Generator is going to be a massive single for The Holloways when it’s released next week.
The single was originally released last autumn and charted at #30. However, in the last couple of weeks, I’ve heard Generator all over the place. Radio 1 in particular seem to be supporting the track, so expect it to go a bit higher this time!

You’ve gotta hand it to Linkin Park - when they arrived in 2000, Limp Bizkit ruled the rap/metal scene with an iron fist. Linkin Park were great and everything, they just couldn’t garner the media attention that Fred Durst seemed to effortlessly command.
Fast forward a few years, and the Bizkit are all but gone and Linkin Park are pretty much the undisputed leaders of mainstream metal. They’ve attained God-like status in recent years, despite a very slow release cycle. For my money, that mostly boils down to quality over quantity.

As the first chorus to U + UR Hand starts, Pink starts skipping in a tight top. Simultaneously she’s singing “I’m not here for your entertainment”. I disagree. As a guy I find Pink skipping fairly entertaining ;)
*cough*
Seriously though, when was the last time Pink released a duff record? She’s had one of the strongest runs of chart success in recent memory, despite a potential career breaking switch from hip-hop to angsty rock.

Watching the video for Glory Days - doesn’t Just Jack look a little bit like Tony Mortimer from East 17?
Any while we’re at it, is it prejudiced to think that anyone singing in a Cockney accent is an Eastend barrow-boy made good? Admit it, when you heard Starz In Their Eyes you thought Just Jack was another one-hit wonder headed for the bargain bins. I did.

I’ll save the rant about Paolo Nutini’s name for another day. (Is it a stage name? It must be.)
Bizarrely, New Shoes seems to be the kind of song you either love or hate. It’s certainly attracting a lot of negative reaction.

The best bit about Stop Me (If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before) is that the ‘one’ I’ve heard before is by The Supremes, not The Smiths.
Smiths fans internet-wide are totally hating on this track. Well, pipe down purists, even Morrisey likes it.

Well, when she’s not busy getting arrested (and resisting said arrest), Kelis can still churn out some fantastic music.
Never in a million years did I think the shouter singer of Caught Out There could do sensitive. But that’s exactly what she manages to achieve with Little Star. It’s a funky soulful collaboration with Cee-Lo. Funny, but the name Cee-Lo meant nothing to me, until I saw the video and recognised him instantly as ‘the big guy from Gnarls Barkley’.
