Same Difference – Pop: an album review

Back in the misty days of Autumn 2007, a brother and sister act rose to prominence on The X Factor. Sean and Sarah Smith frightened the life out of Simon Cowell, but not enough to put him off mentoring them all the way to the final with their High School Musical themed performances.

And a year later, Same Difference are making their first assaults on the charts with their kid-friendly brand of bubblegum pop. In a fit of marketing genius, they’ve called the album Pop, so it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Same Difference – We R One – Single Review

I think it’s interesting that the debut single from Same Difference doesn’t even remotely hint at the fact that they’re a British act. A British act who made it big on the back of a British reality TV show.

For those of you who don’t know (or possibly don’t remember), Same Difference are the brother and sister act who made it through to the finals of 2007’s X Factor. Their squeaky clean act was perfectly suited to High School Musical type songs and performances.

Well, the debut single – We R One – is a perfect mix of all those American teen shows like HSM, and there’s a bit of styling from Grease in the mix too.

George Sampson Goes Head To Head With Take That, Same Difference and McFly

Monday 24th November will see a battle of boy versus men as the prince of breakdance, George Sampson, takes on the kings of pop, Take That, in a modern day David and Goliath fight.

George Sampson will release his hugely anticipated double A side debut single ‘Get Up On The Dance Floor’ and ‘Headz Up’ in a highly contested fight for top spot which will see him battling it out with McFly’s ‘Do Ya’, Same Difference’s ‘We R One’ and Take That’s epic ‘ Greatest Day.’
