Meet Susy Thomas. She’s an indie-label artist from London with a cute smile and a maker of cracking acoustic pop tunes.

Susy was suggested for our Recommended By You spot by Vince Freeman (who we wrote about previously).

Vince describes Susy as a fantastic performer, “Her voice has a real soulful twist with a real international flavour.  Its lovely to see female performers with a real command over the instruments they play.”

Ryan Baustert from Throw The Fight has recommended today’s band, A Verse Unsung. They’re a power-punk four piece from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

With most of the members fresh out of high school, you’ll be surprised at how hard these guys rock. Their MySpace profile boasts almost 10,000 fans, and their older songs have been listened to roughly 20,000 times each.

Listen to a few tracks on their pages and you’ll discover a band who can deliver crushing riffs and head-pounding beats. Cali, their most popular track on MySpace is the perfect example. Vocalist Jake Scherer handles the screaming melodically and effortlessly - get to know the words and you too can shout yourself hoarse with this band!

I’d like to announce a new feature on Unreality Music tonight, called Recommended By You.

The idea behind “Recommended…” is for musicians and music lovers (and even drummers!) to highlight great new artists and bands to the community and to give them a bit of profile through Unreality Music. I’m committed to covering more unsigned/breaking bands on this website, and you guys know your stuff!

How Does It Work?

You know a good unsigned/upcoming solo artist or group. You love their music and you want more people to know about them. Mail me at gerard (at) unrealitytv.co.uk telling me the following:

• Name of artist/group
• Homepage/MySpace/Virb profile page
• Type of music
• How you know the group
• What you like about them

If you’re a musician, also tell me your homepage details and I’ll credit you with the recommendation. There’s a chance that if your music appeals to me, I’ll write a review of you.

We’ll also ask the act you recommended to recommend another act - hoping to create a chain of recommendations that draws musicians together and introduces artists to new music.

I’ll accept entries from anywhere in the world, so long as the act has music online that we can listen to! I’ll have to apply some quality control - only quality acts will get through.
