Listen To Avenue Covering Take That’s Patience

So Avenue, the band that was kicked off X Factor in 2006 for already having a record deal are trying to launch a career outside the show, and have started off by covering Take That’s hit song, Patience.

As a die hard Take That fan, I was slightly sceptical about this venture. However as the song opened I was mightily impressed by the lad on the left’s soft melodic voice. The other guy who sings the second half of the verse isn’t quite as easy to listen to, but all in all it’s not a bad cover.

So will they make it big? I dunno, they’re kind of a bit 90’s boyband for me, but I’m sure that there are some hormonal teenagers out there who will love them!

Spice Girls Donate Headline Profits To Children In Need

BBC Children in Need has announced that the Spice Girls will be donating all of their profits from their new single – Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) – to the charity’s 2007 Appeal.

This single is one of two new songs that the Spice Girls have recorded for their Greatest Hits album and the five-piece will perform the song especially for BBC Children in Need viewers on BBC One on Friday 16 November 2007.

The Spice Girls’ last single release was in November 2000, when the band topped the Official UK chart with the double A-side Holler/Let Love Lead The Way. Read more & comment »
