By my count, Do It is the fifth single from Nelly Furtado’s Loose album. We’re assuming it’s going to be the last until she releases her next album.
However, when you remember that this awesome run of singles started with sexed-up songs like Promiscuous and Maneater, Do It seems like flimsy pop fare by comparison.

That’s not to say Do It isn’t a good song, but it doesn’t sit well with those edgier early singles. The track features a signature Timbaland synth (allegedly borrowed from someone else) which is a little too busy at times. However, Do It still has a great hook and will undoubtedly chart well.

The video has a girlie party vibe going on, although that shot of Nelly gobbing water at the camera is not sexy. Anyway, take a look-see for yourself…

The Proclaimers recorded (I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles in aid of Comic Relief and have held the number one for the last three weeks. But today they were knocked down to number four as Timbaland’s Give It To Me (featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake) took top position.

Poor Gareth Gates failed to even make the top ten with his comeback single Changes, looks like he might just get dropped from another record label!

Unlike the first two singles, All Good Things doesn’t rely on the ‘Loose’ theme of the album’s title! It’s actually got a very haunting Enya-type vibe, and a distinctly weird video featuring Nelly wandering about a beach and er…dealing with upside-down furniture in a forest!

Still, All Good Things is another excellent track from Nelly’s Loose album, and it’s all a world away from her earlier material. She really has come of age this year!

By the way, am I the only one who thinks she looks like a young Courtney Cox?
