Imagine if millions of people had seen you naked before you were old enough to say “embarrassing.” That’s the story of Spencer Elden, whom you may know as the little baby floating towards a dollar bill on the cover of Nirvana’s 1991 album, Nevermind.

I’ve come across a couple of great music-related posts recently. There are a few in here that should put a smile on your face…

An excellent article over at The Trukstop that looks at the forthcoming Metallica album and how it might be received by fans. I wrote about this a while back, saying their style had drifted far from what we all originally loved about Metallica.

Here’s a round up of folk and acoustic artists doing covers of hip-hop songs. The last thing we need is crazy singer/songwriters shooting each other up in musical turf-wars. Stop the madness!

You know, rapping isn’t all about the bitches, hoes and bling. They gots da business to take care of too. Here’s what the excel spreadsheets and flowcharts of your average gangsta rapper look like.

Scott Wharton over at Metal Martyr has some good advice for young metal fans. I know a lot of music fans can become blinkered to that genre. Back when I started listening though, people were excited about fusing metal with other types of music.

Being a budding fatboy, I had an awesome session on the cross-trainer the other night to the Editors album. Then I came across this New York Times article about how music helps with exercise and how to choose the right kind. What kind of music do you listen to at the gym?

Remember, if you come across a good music article on another blog or website, let me know about it and I’ll feature it in the next episode!

I haven’t done one of these since October, so here’s a round up of great music posts I’ve spotted around the web:

The Sneeze gives us the ultimate Christmas song medley with a mashup of 21 artists who’ve performed Winter Wonderland, including Elvis, Clay Aiken, Stryper and…Barney? Be afraid.

Sick of Christmas songs already? Here’s a list of Xmas abominations that will make you thank Jebus for Slade and Wizzard…

Pitchfork Media have released their top 50 albums of the year list. What does it say about me when I don’t recognise the half of the artists on there?

Not to be outdone, the folks at Rolling Stone double Pitchfork’s effort with their massive list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007. End of year round-ups rock, don’t they?

Is the Soulja Boy song getting on your nerves? Watch his Jewish rival, Kosha Boy crank it instead…

The excellent Cracked.com comes up with a list of 6 singers who overestimate their raw sexuality. Can you guess who?

And Double Viking feel the need to vent on the worst hit songs of 2007. Negative gits. Sad that I like a lot of the songs on there…

OK peeps, that’s yer lot for this round-up. If you find any cool posts, let me know about them and I’ll post them in the next linkblog post!

Here are a few quick posts that we haven’t covered on the blog this week, but you can read elsewhere. Enjoy…

Ooops…a few off the cuff remarks from Robbie Williams have created a bit of controversy in the US of A. Apparently Robbie’s tongue got a little loose around some journalists in the States and he claimed to be spending his time shooting heroin and having gay sex. I just don’t think they get his sense of humour over there…

The Double Viking website has compiled an excellent list of the 10 worst ever comeback singles. Higlights include Believe by Cher and American Life by Madonna. Some are so forgettable you’ve already forgotten ‘em.

Allegedly, Radiohead are raking it in off the back of their In Rainbows album. Or so says Mashable. Another report on Forbes claims that it’s also being pirated like crazy. Who’d have thought Internet users would be so dishonest?

Poor Amy Winehouse spent a night in the cells in Oslo for marijuana possession along with that numpty Blake and another unnamed person. Let’s hope she has Pete Doherty’s penchant for avoiding any type of procesution, eh?

Cracked have created a post so awful, my ears bleed just thinking about it. It is called, simply, The 20 Worst Rhymes in Pop Music History. Contact your local politician to legislate against bad lyrics.
