I’ve got a lot to thank Bon Jovi for. Back in the day (that’s 1988, kiddies), they were my earliest introduction to the wonderful world of Hair Metal. It’s been quite a ride, and the ‘Jovi sound has mellowed in the intervening years.
Lovable 48-year-old scamp Richie Sambora went out for a drive in California’s Laguna Beach last night after having a skinful. He was spotted driving erratically in his little Hummer and pulled over.
Naturally, he failed the usual drunk driving tests and spent a fair bit of time down the cop shop explaining himself. In a more serious turn, it seems his daughter was in the car at the time with another child and an adult. TMZ are suggesting that he may face child endangerment charges.
Ah, the ‘Jovi, they used to rock. But since 1992, each successive album has seen their hard rockin’ style watered away. 2007 sees us with either a more mature sounding group or an American country pub band.
If you didn’t know it was Bon Jovi, the Lost Highway single is a passable enough song. Radio-friendly, inoffensive, but ultimately forgettable.
Bon Jovi are to be the first band to perform in the all new O2 Arena, situated in the former Milenium Dome.
The tickets for their ONLY UK concert this year sold out in only half an hour as fans rushed to secure themselves a place at the bands first indoor gig in 15 years.
The O2 arena will also host concerts by Justin Timberlake, the Scissor Sisters and The Rolling Stones later this year.
