Snow Patrol – Take Back The City – Single Review

Snow Patrol – Take Back The City

It’s been absolutely ages since we’ve heard a decent rock song with a “whoa whoa” chorus.

Isn’t it refreshing then that Snow Patrol have decided to run with an up-tempo song as the first single from their new album? And not only an up-tempo song, but a darned catchy one at that?

Watching the video though, I couldn’t help noticing how much Gary Lightbody looks like Mark Ronson.

But forget about that, Take Back The City is a reminder that Snow Patrol are about more than bland balladry. These guys can – and do – rock. Don’t you just wish that Snow Patrol would do more of this stuff?

Snow patrol write great ballads but “Take Back the City” is way off track. It just sounds like they’re not comfortable in their own skin when doing an up beat rock song.

I hyped it on Everhype and scored it 61% which I think is fairly accurate.

I wouldn’t mind getting some opinions on it . If you get on there, rate me a 5 & request friendship.

Snow Patrol have made some cracking upbeat rock songs, it is just a shame that so many only know them for what they call ‘bland balladry’….

Eyes Open people – keep them that way!!
