Scouting For Girls – Elvis Ain’t Dead – Single Review
Hot on the heels of She’s So Lovely, Scouting For Girls deliver yet another up-tempo indie anthem.
Let’s forget that those thick Northern accents drive me psychotic at the moment and concentrate on the song. It’s virtually identical to the last one. Except with a different chorus.
No matter what the subject matter, Scouting For Girls seem to play to an upbeat, cookie-cutter style that has nothing to do with the lyrics. Their unshakable belief in big dumb repetitive choruses is obvious in both Elvis Ain’t Dead and She’s So Lovely.
I love the fact that their music isn’t maudlin, introspective crap, but it’s not clever for an emerging band to release songs that sound the same. Unless they do a Hoosiers and come out with something different on the next single, it might be safe to say that we’ve already seen the best of SFG.
Should we talk about the lyrical nod to Elvis in the line “I’m all shook up and I’m lonesome tonight…” Is this pure cheese or what? Tell me in the comments…

you can tell this band is well talentless. their first song just crap on its own and then they go and repeat the crap identically
They are from LONDON its not a Northern accent!
