Recommended: Attack! Switch Attack!

Hi! Thanks for visiting Unreality Music! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed for regular updates.

This is the first post in our new Recommended By You section. It’s been submitted by a long time friend of Unreality Music, Stuart Revnell. Here’s what Stuart has to say about the band:

The band I recommend is Attack Switch Attack.

I met them through my wife Karen - who’s a photographer - about three years ago, and have seen them get better and better. I saw them last night at The Bullet Bar in Camden at an XFM response night, and the show was great! They’re a three piece - vocals/guitar, bass and drums - and what sets them apart is the quality of the songwriting, the tight, punchy arrangements, and the lead singer’s distinctive vocal delivery. They’ve got strong hooks, melodies and choruses, backed up by great musicians and backing vocals. On top of that, they’re three really nice guys, who clearly believe in the music, first and foremost, and have worked hard to get the live show as tight and powerful as it is.

Check them out before everyone else hears about them!

So, check them out we did. They’re everything Stuart said they would be - punchy, energetic, great vocals. PowPowPow have great things to say about the band too.

I had a giggle at the way they describe themselves on their MySpace page:

We are three. Formed in 2005, we all lead secretive, lavish lifestyles in London; two living above a pub & another above a curry house - North and East respectively. Outside of the band we rarely communicate with one another and are in certain cases, sworn enemies. Punk/disco/no-wave and what have you. Run! Come see us!

The band is made up of Simon Wild (is that a stage name?) on guitar and vocals, Jon Edwards on drums and Bobby Richardson on bass. There’s definitely something raw about the sound of this band - check out the Broccoli Music webpage which says “Attack! Switch Attack! have grabbed the New Wave style by the scruff of the neck and firmly stamped their feet all over it leaving an ever lasting impression on who ever is lucky enough to come across their sound.”
