Poison - Poison’d
I hear that Bret Michael’s and the boys are back today with a new album of exclusively cover versions. Poison’d is the first studio release from Poison since 2002’s Hollyweird.
It’s a bit disappointing that the guys aren’t releasing an album of their own material. They’re a little far on in their career to be relying on a bunch of songs other people have made popular.
If you want a wee taster of Poison’d, head over to the band’s MySpace page. They’ve got a few tunes from the album. What I Like About You is an interesting track, with a sound that harks back to early Poison (there’s a guitar run that sound like it was lifted off Look what The Cat Dragged In), although their version of Suffragette City doesn’t bring anything interesting to the table.
It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the album pans out. You can get the album at Amazon.
