Not The Music News

Since the new year, music news has been thin on the ground. So thin, in fact, that big news sites are going to the trouble of reporting what’s not news in an effort to make themselves look busy.

Not me though, I’m going to take the high road and laugh at the non-events of the last week or so:

Robbie Williams, who’s not been seen since he disappeared up his own arse (just before Rudebox came out), will not be touring in 2008. That’s right folks, he won’t be touring.

*If you are an egomaniacal/manic depressive former boyband member who won’t be touring in 2008, please let me know and I’ll inform your fan. Brian Harvey, I’m looking at you mate…

And guess what? The Backstreet Boys have not been dropped by their record label. Other acts that have not been dropped by their record label in 2008 include Take That, Mika and Kylie Minogue.

Wow, this is great. The opportunities for reporting the music anti-news just got limitless!

Here’s another: Copying your CDs to your computer could be made legal. Yeah, like we’ve been waiting for legislation to catch up with us on that issue! I could talk about that one all day.

If UK legislation catches up with consumers, then only the major record labels will be stuck in the middle ages. Brilliant!

Anyway, that’s your non-event news for today. If there’s anything else not happening in the world of music, please let me know about it. It’s nice to keep up with what’s not going on in the world.
