No Hopes For A Full-Blown Led Zeppelin Tour

Bow your heads in sadness my friends, because Robert Plant himself has said that Led Zeppelin will not be doing a full tour in the wake of the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert in November.
The Daily Express report Robert Plant has denied there will be any full-blown reunion:
Plant, 59, who has not been on stage with the rest of the Seventies supergroup since its appearance for Live Aid in 1985, adds: ?We need to do one last great show because we?ve done some shows and they?ve been crap.?
?Not for me but I can?t speak for anyone else,? he says ? but a tour line-up without the rip-roaring voice of the original lead singer would be unlikely to entice diehard fans. Plant?s words echo those of Pink Floyd?s David Gilmour who, as we reported this week, reiterates that nothing could persuade him to reform with his old bandmates despite performing together at Live8 in 2005.
We’re a little bit upset at this news, but the demand for a Zeppelin reunion has been steady for 27 years now. The band haven’t succumbed to the fans in that length of time, and they’re not likely to now.
Perhaps that’s part of the mystique of Led Zeppelin…that they’re so aloof and don’t need to reunite to validate their careers. But wouldn’t it be nice if just this once they’d do a big tour and go out with a bang?
There’s at least one lighter still held in the air over here guys…
