Nicole Scherzinger Returning To Pussycat Dolls

According to Idolator, Nicole Scherzinger will be returning to her raunchy song and dance act after her solo career failed to set the charts alight.

Nicole’s decision to go solo after the Pussycat Dolls first album was something which shocked me. The Dolls had barely broken as an act, though admittedly Nicole was the only member of the group people recognised. Surely the music equivalent of premature ejaculation, Nicole decided that the time was right to go it alone.

And while part of the Pussycat Dolls, Scherzinger was the focal point, alone she failed to capture the public interest – despite keeping company with the likes of Timbaland, will.i.am and Mr Sean Combs.

Nicole’s obviously a talented and ambitious girl. She’s got a slender figure most women would kill for, and a smoky singing voice that could bring a man to his knees. But something’s missing from the mix that’s keeping Nicole from hitting the big time. Reading between the lines, I think she comes across as almost coldly ambitious – the hanging out with the right hip-hop megastars, the premature move toward a solo career and something in her character that is hard to identify with, for men and women.

Couple that with a couple of bland R&B singles, and you’ve lost the thrill of the original PCD material. Maybe if she’d been a bit more patient and bided her time in Pussycat Dolls, we could have got to know her better.

Unfortunately, her return to the PCD fold now looks more like a ‘tail between the legs’ rejoining rather than a continuation from a couple of years ago. Shame. What do you folks think?

Nicole obviously is a great perfomer to bo watch and listen, but, I don’t believe that she has quite that star quality that one needs in order to become a solo artiste and become famous.Yes, she has amazing vocals; and yeah, sure she’s easy on the eyes, but can she hold her own?Naaaaaaah! I think so… She ate the “apple with den’s Crush and got expelled from the garden, now she needs to “Get Over Herself” and ’stick wit’ the Pussycat Dolls. Sto being such an opportunistic hip-hop groupie and get with the programme! Hangin’ off Puffy’s dick won’t score you a record deal and make you the next Christia.

Nicole never left the pussycat dolls, she didn’t ‘go solo’ she just had one song on her own, which by the way WAS a hit. Back off, she just wanted to promote the pussycat dolls more and thought that going solo was the way about it. Oh, and she’s not ‘over ambitious’, she’s only had two albums with the pussycat dolls, which is still a big acheivment, but come on, look at girls aloud… 19 top 10 singles, how many albums? cheryl’s a judge on x factor nicola has her own makeup range, and they have to go on, like, 20 interveiw before they release a song to promote it. If thats not ambitious then what is?

  3. Excuse me, Gabriella, but Nicole release a full solo album and more than one solo single. Look it up.

When I say over ambitious, I mean, she reached too far ahead of herself and overestimated her importance. She was a big deal as the lead singer of PCD, but on her own, not so important. That doesn’t make her a bad person or anything, she just made a poor career move.

Well guys, all of you guys are right and wrong. I love Nicole, shes my favorite artist and I loved all her songs but she did go a little ahead of herself but she still never released her album yet. She released a few singles but then decided to go back to PCD and shes going to revise her album, and then release it after shes done promoting PCD’s new album

I thought I read that she never intended to leave PCD that this was just a side job. Something like what Beyonce did before Destiny Fulfilled. However, one could argue that was only stated to save their group careers if the solo part failed. In Beyonce case it didn’t obv..hence why the group did end in the long run.. Anyway, I still agree with you that the solo career thing was premature…The smart move would be to wait get some longevity with the group..then come out.

  6. Funnily enough, Leo, I feel much better disposed to Nicole this time around with the Dolls. I still don’t think Nicole going solo would work though, she needs to do something truly groundbreaking, and maybe she relied too heavily on collaborations? She hasn’t properly come out on her own yet.
