I read an interesting piece over on ZME music speculating on a possible new Aerosmith album in the making. Apparently Joe Perry spoke on a New York radio show about his son’s band and the problems that have got in the way of a new Aerosmith record.
We also found out that Aerosmith had an album in the making for a whole lot of time, but they hit dumps numerous times, so after these setbacks they decided they had to do things more seriously, so they’ll begin working just a few weeks from now. Great news also to hear that Aerosmith guitarist is feeling better than ever and he’s great to make a fantastic record!
The last I read about Aerosmith, there seemed to be a bit of infighting around Steven Tyler’s egomania. It’s sort of good to hear that the ‘Smith are back on track and ready to record something new. They’ve got an awesome legacy to uphold - fingers crossed that they can match the quality of some of their classic stuff. Watch this space.

I’m not sure George - I hear Steven Tyler has gone into rehab, so what that means for the new Aerosmith album isn’t clear at this point.
If it’s any consolation, they came back stronger than ever after their rehab stint in the 80’s, so maybe this’ll see Aerosmith back in their prime.

That “rehab” is more like extremely intensive physical therapy, after having to have surgery on his foot. Apparently it’s some sort of procedure that requires a LOT of treatment after the fact. Also I read something about the reason that he actually “checked in” somewhere, rather than just having regular visits, has something to do with a girlfriend (or maybe ex, by now?) who was a bit on the wild side, even for Tyler!
Oh…scratch that… apparently it was rehab for the pain meds he was put on, AFTER the foot surgery. But it sounds like he went for the rehab relatively early on, so probably wasn’t more than a month or so, that it seriously affected him.
I have an in with Joe Perry and right now thw whole band is together all doing well and are seriously recording a new album, no date when the release will be but they are going into hiding for a while
