By my count, Do It is the fifth single from Nelly Furtado’s Loose album. We’re assuming it’s going to be the last until she releases her next album.
However, when you remember that this awesome run of singles started with sexed-up songs like Promiscuous and Maneater, Do It seems like flimsy pop fare by comparison.
That’s not to say Do It isn’t a good song, but it doesn’t sit well with those edgier early singles. The track features a signature Timbaland synth (allegedly borrowed from someone else) which is a little too busy at times. However, Do It still has a great hook and will undoubtedly chart well.
The video has a girlie party vibe going on, although that shot of Nelly gobbing water at the camera is not sexy. Anyway, take a look-see for yourself…
