Meat Loaf Cancels Concert Due To Stress
Not what you’d expect from a literal rock heavyweight like Meat Loaf, but the big guy canceled his concert in Newcastle last night citing stress. It was during a performance of Paradise By The Dashboard Light that Meat apparently stopped mid-way and left the stage after thanking the audience. The show had lasted about an hour at that point.
The audience were later told that Meat Loaf had taken ill and wouldn’t be returning to the stage.
There has also been a rumor that Meat Loaf said to the audience that the Newcastle show would be his final gig. However, that claim has been shot down by the tour promoter, Andrew Miller. Who, I would imagine has a lot of money resting on Meat’s ability to finish the tour!
With Meat seemingly exhausted, it’s questionable whether he’ll be able to complete the tour. And given the lackluster TV appearances we’ve heard from him in the past couple of years, it could be that his retirement is inching closer.

Have just been to see meatloaf at Broadlands Romsey. We thought there was a problem with the sound system his vocals were so bad. The female singer however had no problems and showed what was possible. His singing was slow, out of sync with the songs, out of tune and incoherrent. I second the above comments in that I thought the man was drunk. Amazingly some of the crowd still cheered him. The best bits were when he wasn’t singing which isn’t really what you pay to go to a meatloaf concert for. I suggest he retires
