Matt Willis – Crash

I think this is Matt Willis’ first post-jungle music release. I read over on the reality TV blog that he wants to be taken seriously for his music now that his dalliances with reality TV are over.

So why choose to do a cover? Crash was originally released in the 80’s by a band called The Primitives.

I like Matt, I really do. But rehashing an old punk tune by speeding it up a bit is an age-old trick of garage bands everywhere. There’s no ‘art’ to that. I haven’t managed to track down the video for Crash yet, but I’m guessing we’ll see this serious artist pulling his trademark cheeky face and prancing around like an arse.

So much for serious musician. Does he even play an instrument anymore? Sorry, but this is crap. Pity I don’t have a page for drivel.

good post. your right, it is a crap cover (and it wasn’t originally a punk song). please someone try something different with the song. 20 years later and they all sound the same.
