Lily Allen Blogs That Paparazzi Smashed Her Car Window

Wow. Just saw Lily Allen’s latest blog post saying that members of the illustrious paparazzi broke the rear window of her car.
She’s fairly vague on the details, but it seems that a pack pf paps were chasing her car and one of them broke the window. Presumably to get a rise out of the volatile pop star and get a few ‘angry’ photos to sell to Heat magazine and the tabloids.
From Lily’s blog post:
There were so many of them hassling us that it is difficult to say which one of them did it but i had to leap in a taxi to get away from them, my friend Emily had to get into the car which was covered in broken glass and drive it away. It was a scary situation and i want people to know that it was totally their fault and that the whole situation has angered and upset me. Emily got cut from sitting on the broken glass and we are both horrified that people could behave in this way and get away with it.
She makes a very valid point. Why can these guys get away with such stunts without fear of reprisal? It’s 11 years since Princess Diana and her entourage were horribly killed in a Paris tunnel and the paparazzi were the prime suspects for causing the crash.
When are these hyenas going to become regulated? It’s not hard to spot them in and around London at celebrity events. There either needs to be some form of better law enforcement - people like Lily Allen are at a higher risk from these camera-toting yobs - or the celebrity press (Heat, The Sun, and all the rest) need to be more selective about the kind of photos they publish - if it looks like the photographer has ‘baited’ the person in any way, they just shouldn’t use the pictures.
All those headlines about “[Insert celebrity name] attacks cameraman”. Makes you think twice about who the hooligans are, doesn’t it?
