Let’s Talk About Paul McCartney
Hi! Thanks for visiting Unreality Music! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed for regular updates.
I don’t know what it is about Fossil McCartney, but I can’t stand the man. National treasure my arse. Didn’t like The Beatles, didn’t like Wings, didn’t like his solo stuff, didn’t like The Plastic Ono Band. OK, The Plastic Ono Band wasn’t his, but I thought I’d even things out for the outraged purists among you.
Look at this latest release, Dance Tonight (video below). You get a bizarre postman rambling about peacocks, delivering a mandolin to a presumably post-divorce McCartney living alone in his house. Worse still, as he starts playing playing the thing, a ghost jumps out of the packaging. I’m not kidding, but for a split second I thought he was being crass enough to evoke Linda’s ghost for the video. Seriously.
Unfortunately, Dance Tonight doesn’t make me want to dance. Quite the opposite. This folk-rock atrocity could have been released by McCartney at any point in the last 30 years, the video concept is outdated by at least that much. It’s a frickin’ train wreck. Enough to make me want to boycott Starbucks if I could afford to drink there.
Can we, as a nation, take out an injunction against this man? If he continues to make this kind of music, he’ll set the entire industry back decades. And not in a good way.
He should even be banned from those damned obligatory appearances at big charity concerts where they dust him off for the big “Hey Jude” finish and we get to watch modern, credible (and not-so-credible) artists pretend to like the most schmaltzy overplayed song in the history of pop.
Just had to get that off my chest folks. I’m feeling better now…

I used to like the Beatles but have been totally unimpressed by anything that Mr McCartney has done since. He has simply proved that he was not the creative genius behind the originality of the Beatles - it really was all down to John Lennon.
Paul McCartney has no charisma whatsoever, is dull, lacking in creativity and has exhausted the ‘I used to be in the Beatles’ tired old justification for kudos.
‘Wings’ were simply awful, and further solo efforts such as ‘Pipes of Peace’ were absolutely cringeworthy, resorting to a ‘Whally Whitonesque’ style- suited more to nursery rhymes than contemporary pop/rock of the mid eighties.
Sir Paul is simply embarrassing to watch or listen to, he should stop dyeing his grey locks as he looks like a badly ageing lesbian, his voice is so insipidly weak and uninspiring and his music is boring, repetitive and incredibly monotonous. A match with a one legged ex-model who actually had her own thoughts and opinions proved too challenging for his fragile ego and desperate yearning for adoration and a ‘yes-person’…it was doomed from the start, but I would have little respect for any woman who finds this ageing, androgenous, passive bully of a man remotely appealing.
Sir Paul exemplifies the price to pay for not quitting whilst ahead, you become an embarrassing joke, patronised by old Beatles fans or those lacking in the gonads to say ‘The Emperor REALLY has no clothes’!
However, with the sound turned down, I liked the video which Paul undoubtedly had little to do with but will take credit for nonetheless!
