Leona Lewis - A Moment Like ThisA Moment Like This is the first single released by X Factor winner Leona Lewis, and the song she sang at the show’s finale.

If you’re a follower of Unreality TV (and I hope you are!), you’ll know we were rooting for Leona to win this year’s X Factor. We’re both very pleased to see Leona’s first single release, a cover of a Kelly Clarkson song (which she also sung at the American Idol final).

A Moment Like This is totally suited to Leona’s strengths as a singer of powerful ballads (should that be power ballads?). It’s accompanied by a video that highlights Leona’s X Factor journey, culminating in the emotional live final performance. Unfortunately, right at the end as the song dies out, they throw up an unglamorous shot of Leona blubbing into the camera - not her finest moment!

All in all, though its a great song and should set the tone for the material that Leona records in the future. Funny, but power ballads like this mean so much more when there’s a story behind them, don’t they?

    i am going to the live show on the 17 march 2007 i can not wait i have your cd and listen to it every night i am soooo exited i go to school on saturday and everyone at school says i am soooo lucky and i am please write back i have watched all the shows and i have the dvds but out of all of them u are the best!!!!! i luv u please write back

    Hey, my name is danielle, i have recnetly been to a 4 year olds funeral and your song footsteps in the sand was played as she was carried in, they were hoping to get hold of you to see if you could play live at the funeral but your a star so it was very hard to get hold of you. at this moment in time i am trying to write a song i know i am asking alot of you, but would you be able to either help write this song or maybe sing it dedicated to the little princess that passed away on the 21st of february 2008 x she meant alot to everyone here in jersey and is very much missed! x it would be very appreciated if you could help. you are an amazing singer and an inspiration to us all, Holly loved your singing and to hear you sing a song dedicated too her would be out of this world !! thank you x
