Well, manky Manc and former Stone Rose Ian Brown has just released a cracking new single, Sister Rose. And this time, backing is provided by Sex Pistols Steve Jones and Paul Cook.

Sister Rose is musically a funky but quite sinister track. You’ve got dramatic strings, growling distorted guitar over a basic snare and bass drum pattern. This one is begging to be played at nosebleed volumes.

I’m not normally a fan of Brown’s work, but this is worthy of a listen, especially since I’ve been bemoaning the lack of decent music lately. Score one for decent music then!
