With the Spice Girls looking like dried up, surgically altered old hags, it looks like Girls Aloud are carrying the flag for Girl Power these days. And what better anthem for nu-female attitude than the theme to the St Trinian’s movie?

It’s nice to see GA doing punky and nasty for a change instead of their usual polished videos.

I’m not sure this sits well with the rest of the Girls Aloud catalog, but it does sound a little like Sound Of The Underground without the surf guitar.

The lyrics are hilarious, if not a little lost among the noise. Worth looking them up if you want the full benefit:

The ASBOs, the chavs, the emos and their mates

Defenders of anarchy

Not necessarily their finest hour, but the St Trinian’s Theme is probably the funniest song you’ll hear among all the Christmas songs this month.
