This news is worthy of at least a raised eyebrow. Fleetwood Mac are planning to reform and release new material and may be joined on this outing by erstwhile warbler Sheryl Crow.
Fleetwood Mac always had two female vocalists until Christine McVie retired from the band in the 90’s, so the idea of bringing Sheryl Crow in as a replacement is sharp thinking, both for the ‘Mac and for the ‘Crow. I’d imagine it would bring together their respective audiences and open up some interesting musical possibilities.
However, Fleetwood Mac’s singer/guitarist Lindsey “It’s not just a girl’s name” Buckingham is a little more reserved about the possibility of Sheryl Crow joining his band. He says that although the idea of another female vocalist has been discussed, nothing has been written in stone.
I think we were all a little surprised (Crow) was announcing that to the world with such certainty,” Buckingham says with a laugh. “We have talked about the possibility of bringing another woman into the scene to kind of give Stevie a sort of foil and shake it up a little bit. (Crow) was certainly a name that has come up. We’ll have to see.
Personally, I like the idea of them taking in another big name. I don’t think it would do either act any harm and might expand both their fanbases in the process.
In other news, Buckingham sounds excited at the new material he’s got together for the new Fleetwood project. Are your appetites sufficiently whetted?

Well……it seems those same superdelegates who think the Kosovo bullet dodging Hillary is the best candidate to run against McCain also think Sheryl is better equipped than Alicia Keys- even though Alicia is leading in pledged pre sales of her next album and overall record sales. I hope that you,Lindsey, and the rest of the band have not become so old, tired and filled with fear to stand up to the pressure of the old school back room political machine of the major record labels and do the right thing for a positive change and join the will of the people.
Remember the unofficial theme of the Clinton presidency? That’s right - it was your own “Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow”. It’s scary to think of the depth and reach of this Clinton machine and what they will do to achieve their goals.Lindsey——please don’t succumb to this trick-you are smarter and better than they are.
Find someone else with some integrity. History has shown that you have earned yours so don’t blow it now.We need people like you to stand up and help change the world for the good of all - not just Sheryl Crow or the Clintons.
