Firstly, Mr Charlie Simpson should be apologising for inflicting Busted on an unsuspecting world. But according to this latest single, we shouldn’t be expecting a heartfelt apology any time soon.

We Apologise For Nothing marks a new era for Fightstar – one where those old Busted comparisons are now meaningless and where his band seems to be gaining some credibility in it’s own right.

Having witnessed some of his earlier material, Charlie looks much more comfortable with this band and with the material he’s singing. Fightstar’s music is much meatier than I expected. We Apologise For Nothing has an anthemic quality and majestic guitar harmonies that drive the song along.

But the quality of the musicianship does show off the fact that Fightstar is more than just Charlie From Busted And Friends and makes for an intriguing teaser for the direction of the new album.
