Feist – 1 2 3 4 – That iPod Song!
Only a matter of time before that infectious iPod song made it into the charts, and this week Feist’s 1 2 3 4 is in the top 10 on both sides of the Atlantic.
It’s not the first time major exposure in an advert has brought on chart success (bizarrely, Nick Kamen has been mentioned to me twice this week!).
1 2 3 4 is just another one of those feelgood songs, coupled with a fantastically choreographed video. The overall effect is just warm, funny and good clean fun. There’s no reason not to like it!
I think it’s great that an artist can get this kind of coverage. Let’s face it, Feist may never have been able to break quite so extensively without the iPod commercial behind her.
The big question is: will you go out now and buy more music by Feist?
Just a quick update: read the post on EW’s PopWatch blog, which suggests that more Indie acts will be breaking via the medium of advertising very soon. All part of the new wave of music marketing my friends!

Is 1,2,3,4 shot in one take with no cuts?
I believe it is Joey. The best amateur choreography since Fatboy Slim’s Praise You video!
