I met top UK vlogger Daveyboyz (aka David Bass) back in February 2008 when he was participating in BBC’s Upstaged. He’s been in touch to tell me about his latest project, and I just have to share it with you – he’s decided to dedicate his life to an as-yet-untapped niche: Heavy Metal and… Farming.

Since the video became a viral smash on YouTube, Davey has decided to start a band to take his flat-cap version of Metal to the masses. Needless to say, I’m thinking giant inflatable sheep floating over the arena, and a 60 minute concept album about how Louis Pasteur revolutionised the milking industry.

Davey tells me a single will be released in the next few months, so keep an eye on his YouTube feed for the latest and greatest. Coming from a fairly rural area, I’ve always felt there’s been a synergy between agriculture and rock, and now Davey’s stepped into the fray to give voice to this musical minority.
