The best bit about Stop Me (If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before) is that the ‘one’ I’ve heard before is by The Supremes, not The Smiths.
Smiths fans internet-wide are totally hating on this track. Well, pipe down purists, even Morrisey likes it.

Timbaland’s been playing around with Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado for the last few years. These days, you can’t watch the videos of any one without the other two popping up. They really are a very cosy triumvirate.
But, if JT and Nelly are the pretty faces at the front, the big guy making the actual music happen is Mr Timbaland.

Thank God for Mika! Since he burst on the scene with Grace Kelly, I’ve been certain he’d liven up a predictable pop industry.
There’s no denying that Mika’s a quirky, eclectic dude. He’s got a gangly, awkward way of performing, but a sort of camp exotic charm too. (plenty of speculation around the web). Anyway, I really like what he’s doing musically, although I was a bit surprised that he chose Love Today as the follow up single instead of Lollipop, which is just begging to be released.

Oh, but this is terrible. And isn’t it too early in the year to be releasing this kind of “holiday in Ibiza” crap? A quick search on the web confirms the Ibiza anthem theory.
Alright, I can see how this would be popular in a sweaty club scenario, but I can’t stand the monotonous drawl Crystal Waters calls singing, and the backing track just does nothing for me - it’s like a fart orchestra….
And then there’s the video. Not since the heady days of Robert Palmer’s Addicted To Love has a video featured women looking so completely unsexy. Sorry, but this one falls in my crap category.

I caught the video for this Shakira/Beyonce collaboration for the first time today. Funnily enough, it’s hard to tell the difference between Shakira and Beyonce. It’s a bit like that sex scene in The Devil’s Advocate where the woman morphs between Keanu’s wife and his co-worker….
Anyhoo, you don’t pair up these particular singers without having one hell of a hot track to play, and Beautiful Liar is red hot! You’ve got a smouldering Eastern-influenced track which opens with one or the other panting some lyrics.

I finally caught the video for Eric Prydz’s version of Another Brick In The Wall on TMF this evening. Was never a big fan of the original song, but this remix injects some energy into it.
Proper Education is a bit shorter than I remember Another Brick In The Wall being, but it weaves in the original Pink Floyd vocal along with (I think) the original bassline and guitar tracks. Not normally my thing, but this update may actually be better than the original!
