I’m listening to this guy Ben Lee at the moment.
He’s releasing a new album in February 2009 to be called “The Rebirth Of Venus”. You can catch a couple of the tunes from the album over on his MySpace page: What’s So Bad (About Feeling Good) and I Love Pop Music.
I like this stuff, it has a quirky vibe. It’s hard to put Lee’s music in a particular category, which is nice. Don’t even try to, just enjoy its upbeat and playful musicality.

There are two things in my mind as I approach my Death Magnetic review. One is that such a record cannot be compared to a classic (Master Of Puppets) that has been part of our lives for over twenty years.
The second thing is guilt. Yes, guilt. After the critical roasting they got for St Anger, Metallica went back to their roots. Is it even remotely right for us fans to insist on ‘more of the same’ from a band? Surely artistic growth alone suggests that Metallica should have been allowed to shape their musical style instead of returning to the sound that launched them?

October 22nd, 2008 by Gerard McGarry. Tags: Aerosmith

Sadly, as the autumn turns to winter, the prospects of a new Aerosmith album in your Christmas stocking this year dwindle and fade…
With rock-legend and scarf fetishist Steven Tyler and Joe ‘Cheekbones’ Perry both crocked during the year, Aerosmith only have a half-recorded album, and we’d all prefer to wait for the finished version. Thanks very much.

Word reaches me, Dr Pepper lovers, that Guns N’ Roses will release their long long long long long awaited Chinese Democracy album on 23rd November of this very year.
A major pat on the back for Axl, perhaps showing exactly how petty he can be when someone makes fun at his expense! Or maybe he’d planned to release an album this year?

Apologies for the absence of late, dear readers. You might have noticed the minor upgrade we’ve made to the site design…that’s been occupying my time recently :)
Anyway, while I’ve been working out those little bugs in the design, I’ve also been spending birthday vouchers like a man on fire! Well, a man with £25 of Amazon vouchers…
Bet you’re wondering what I bought…?
