Biffy Clyro - Folding Stars

Another one of those bands that are getting the full benefit of the Radio 1 hype machine are Biffy Clyro. I’d never heard of them before Edith Bowman started ranting on about them incessantly.
Folding Stars isn’t a bad introduction to the band to be honest. Musically, it’s a fairly straightforward mid-tempo rock song, with an excellent wall of distortion during the chorus.
From what I’ve heard, the song is about the death of lead singer Simon Neil’s mother. Apparently, Simon has commented about the song:
It was definitely the toughest song I’ve ever had to record. It’s the most raw and exposed I’ve ever felt - I’m still not sure if I want to play it live, but it was the only way for me to deal with it. It’s such a clich and usually I hate people that spout shit like this… but having the chance to sing about my mum dying was therapeutic.
