Anyhoo, they’re back and they’ve brought all those classic Backstreet video moments including clutching at their chest like they’re singing through a massive heart attack. And the ladies’ favourite - the wee blonde one framing his cutsey lil’ face with his index fingers.
All the same, despite wanting to hate the track, Inconsolable isn’t the worst piece of dross to hit the charts recently, and it certainly bears the hallmarks of a maturing sound. Which sits somewhat uncomfortably with the fact that they insist on keeping ‘boys’ as part of their name. Perhaps they should have changed the name.
There’s not much more that we can possibly say about the song. It’s standard pop fare, albeit with a very polished pop sound. There’s nothing here to alienate existing fans, but little to attract new audiences either. Scroll past the video to see our all-time favourite BSB moment…
