Aww. No Line Of Lily Allen Maternity Clothes!
Lily Allen continues to impress me with her attitude. She’s up the duff by her Chemical boyfriend, but she’s refusing to cash in like lesser celebrities by launching a range of maternity clothes for other pregnant LDN girls.
Her reasoning? Well, she admits that she’s a little young to be having children and recognises that her audience (or ‘demographic’ as she eloquently puts it) are mostly young girls.
Not wanting to be a bad influence on said youngsters, Lily has turned down lucrative offers to front maternity ranges, proving:
- She has the balls to pick and choose her own work, even where she could have made a few bucks.
- She actually cares about the image she puts across. In stark contrast to that other London-based chanteuse with the dusty nostrils.
With a new album to be released sometime next year, a television show and a sprog on the way, Lily’s going to be having a busy 2008. I’m guessing there’ll be no shortage of inspiration for the third album at this rate!
Here’s a soundbyte for you:
I’ve had a lot of offers from people to do my own maternity range but I don’t think it is the right message to send to young Britain. I’m not the best example. I’m pregnant and a bit young, aren’t I? My demographic is generally young girls, so I don’t think a maternity line is suitable. It isn’t the best impression to give them.
Is it me, or is Lily implying that the pregnancy wasn’t planned? Ah well, it happens to the best of us…
