Alicia-Keys-No-One

After what seems like an eternity, Alicia Keys graces us with a new single, No One. I heard this on Jonathan Ross’ show a couple of Friday’s ago when she closed the programme with the song.

I’ve always had a soft spot for the appropriately-named piano-botherer from New York. She’s all grown up now and her performance (both live and in the No One video) are much more mature.

Alicia took some criticism for being a little over the top in her vocal performance for this song, but comparing Alicia Keys from 2002 to her current day incarnation is pointless. Her musical style has evolved into a more mainstream pop.

That’s not to say it isn’t good, it’s a fantastic song, and proof that mainstream pop is starting to make a comeback this year.
