Alice Cooper’s new album ‘Along Came A Spider’ to be released in July
Hi! Thanks for visiting Unreality Music! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed for regular updates.

I’ve not bought an Alice Cooper album since Hey Stoopid, but the king of getting killed onstage is obviously still working in between rounds of golf, because Alice has a new album coming out in July!
Playing heavily to the old ’shock rock’ image, the track listing has a definite slant toward chilling titles. I remember back when Trash was released they talked about keeping the titles horror-related in line with Alice’s image, but making the content more contemporary.
I wonder if that’s the approach they’ve taken with these songs?
- Prologue/I Know Where You Live
- Vengeance Is Mine
- Wake The Dead
- Catch Me If You Can
- (In Touch With) Your Feminine Side
- Wrapped In Silk
- Killed By Love
- I’m Hungry
- The One That Got Away
- Salvation
- I Am The Spider/Epilogue
The album was recorded using Alice’s current touring band of drummer Eric Singer, Chuck Garric on bass, and guitarists Keri Kelli and Jason Hook.
Word has it that Slash makes an appearance on the second track, Vengeance Is Mine, so those old superstar connections are still working!
A Concept Album?
Along Came A Spider is centered around the character of Spider (yes, from the title) who is a serial killer Cooper wants us to like. Spider likes to embalm his victims in silk that matches the colour of their eyes. In a deliberately sick turn of events, the killer amputates a leg from the victim as he builds up enough to make himself a ‘real’ spider. Psycho.
Alice says.
It’s very easy to pull for a fictitious serial killer, a Hannibal Lecter or a Jason Voorhees. I don’t think anyone was ever cheering for Ted Bundy or Richard Speck or anything like that, but when it’s a fictitious serial killer, you can get behind him.
According to reports, Cooper will tour the album in 2009 with a full stage show in support of the story. He’s said to be dreaming up an all-new way for his character to die on stage. Dig deep Alice, dig deep.

Sounds great!! I’ve been waiting for a good creep out album from the King of Shock ever cence Dragontown!
With songs like “Vengence is Mine” and “Salvation”,I wonder if Alice is once again going to wieve his faith(Christianity)into the album like he did with Brutal Planet/Dragontown?
Being a Christian my self(and a HUGE Coop fan) One can only hope. I think those two albums were his best work of the new millineum!

To the reviewer,
I loved Hey Stoopid, but boy did you miss out on The Last Temptation which is as good as his classic 70’s sound and the very heavy and awesome Brutal Planet album. You need to pick those two up. Can’t wait for the new Alice.

I’ve been an Alice fan for 30 years, so i grew up with all the classics, from schools out (and earlier) to the present. It’s hard to pick favourites, but “welcome” , “Fom the inside” and “Brutal planet” spring to mind.
I have high hopes for “Along came a spider”. HANG IN THERE EVERYONE.
