Every time I hear a new Magic Numbers song I make a mental note to buy some of their material, but life always gets in the way and I invariably forget. Then I hear this gorgeous track from their forthcoming Undecided EP and I resolve to check them out yet again. Doing a bit of reading un on Stereogum, I discovered that this is the first single by the band to give Angela Gannon her first lead vocal.

It’s shocking to hear in this day and age that artists are still getting screwed over by record companies.Actually, it isn’t shocking at all, but you’d think that Dr Dre might have had a bit more business sense.
I mean, Dre’s solo albums have been high water marks in the evolution of hip-hop and rap. They’ve also given some of the biggest names in rap their big break. Snoop Dogg on The Chronic and Eminem on 2001.

I came across a great site on my travels across cyberspace this evening. The Filter is a music discovery website in a similar vein to Pandora that helps you to find music you’ll like based on your favourite artists.
As well as being able to search for music via the website, you can download a piece of software that plugs into your iTunes or Windows Media Player and it’ll give you recommendations based on your MP3 collection.

The announcement that No Doubt is reforming is good news on two counts: 1) that we’ll be hearing some new music from one of my favorite bands, and 2) that Gwen will stop releasing her awful solo singles. Let’s face it, quality control was lacking on The Sweet Escape…
No Doubt are apparently working on their sixth album, which will be a follow-up to 2001’s Rock Steady. Yes, its been six years!

Despite being a bit behind all the latest British Indie bands (there are so many of them!!!), I enjoyed Hard-Fi’s music when they hit the charts in 2005 with Cash Machine.
The fact of the matter is that Hard-Fi come across as more direct and less pretentious than their Indie-label bedfellows, and their music is always, well harder than them too.

The Gym Class Heroes have waited a respectable length of time for Cupid’s Chokehold to descend the charts, now it’s time to release their next soon-to-be hit record. The more I listen to Clothes Off, the more they seem to have pretensions of becoming the new Black Eyed Peas - no mean feat, but achievable since the BEP aren’t exactly producing any new music at the moment.

Since the Plain White T’s are virtually unknown in the UK, I thought I’d lead off this review by telling you a few things about the band.First: they’ve been around since 1997, so don’t be calling them an overnight success. Plus, they’ve released 4 albums to date, the latest of which is Every Second Counts.
Second: Hey There Delilah was originally released in 2005 as part of the band’s third album. Since the tune went to #1 in the USA, it’s been added to the fourth album as a bonus track.

Kanye West has just hit number 1 in the UK with his latest single, Stronger. Unsurprisingly really, considering that he’s been doing a serious promotional round this week that included an appearance at Radio 1 and taking on the guest host spot on the Friday Night Project.
Stronger lifts a massive chunk of Daft Punk’s Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. The electronica is a huge departure for Kanye, considering the style we’d become accustomed to on Late Registration. Hard to get used to at first, because the Daft Punk sample is so high in the mix, but you do get used to it and you do find yourself trying to sing in a vocoder style…

I’ve got a lot to thank Bon Jovi for. Back in the day (that’s 1988, kiddies), they were my earliest introduction to the wonderful world of Hair Metal. It’s been quite a ride, and the ‘Jovi sound has mellowed in the intervening years.
So, if you’re a fan of classic Bon Jovi, let’s take a look down memory lane at 10 of their best-known songs:

Chad Kroeger and his Nickelback chums are experiencing a bit of a backlash at the moment. Apparently they’ve been rumbled as being both boring and generic.
Funnily enough, I was listening to their Silver Side Up album during the week and I couldn’t help thinking that they weren’t as clever as we all imagined when How You Remind Me came out.
