Keane - A Bad Dream

Hi! Thanks for visiting Unreality Music! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed for regular updates.

Keane are due to release their latest single, A Bad Dream on the 22nd January 2007.

‘A Bad Dream’ is inspired by a WB Yeats poem ‘An Irish Airman Foresees His Death’, written about war from a soldier’s perspective. When I heard what the song was about, before actually listening to the track, I was expecting something extremely dire and depressing, but Keane, true to form have managed to impress once again.

The song is beautiful and powerful, without making me want to throw myself from the top of a building. It is thought provoking and intriguing, and as always the vocals of Tom Chaplin are astounding. Chaplin himself has referred to the song as “the best song we’ve ever written”. I think he might be right.

Guillemots - Annie, Let’s Not Wait

I don’t know how I have managed to miss this band completely, but The Guillemots are releasing a new single this week called ‘Annie, Lets Not Wait’ and I love this funky upbeat track.

Written by Fyfe Dangefield and co-produced with Adam Noble, ‘Annie, Lets Not Wait’ is the fourth track to be taken from the debut album and follows the hit singles ‘Trains to Brazil’, ‘We’re Here’ and ‘Made-Up Lovesong #43′.

Tenacious D - Tribute

Tenacious D - TributeTrue story: The first time I heard Tenacious D’s debut album, it almost killed me. I’d been given a copy of the album and played it in the car. Somewhere around Wonderboy, I was laughing so hard I nearly drove off the side of the road. Forget explicit lyrics - we need health warnings on Comedy Metal albums!

Jamelia - Beware Of The Dog

Fresh from insulting X Factor’s Leona Lewis, Jamelia’s back on the scene with a new single! Funny how those tabloid-grabbing stories break whenever there’s a release on the horizon, isn’t it?

Review: Pussycat Dolls - Wait A Minute

PcdI love the Pussycat Dolls. I like to think of them as an elite troupe of lapdancers, who’ve escaped from the club and are trying unsuccessfully to fit in with society.

Let’s face it, there isn’t much pretence - the name Pussycat Dolls has lap dancing written all over it, as do the dance routines, as do the tunes. Hell, I’m not complaining!

Leona Lewis - A Moment Like This

Leona Lewis - A Moment Like ThisA Moment Like This is the first single released by X Factor winner Leona Lewis, and the song she sang at the show’s finale.

If you’re a follower of Unreality TV (and I hope you are!), you’ll know we were rooting for Leona to win this year’s X Factor. We’re both very pleased to see Leona’s first single release, a cover of a Kelly Clarkson song (which she also sung at the American Idol final).

Eric Prydz Vs Floyd - Proper Education

I finally caught the video for Eric Prydz’s version of Another Brick In The Wall on TMF this evening. Was never a big fan of the original song, but this remix injects some energy into it.

Proper Education is a bit shorter than I remember Another Brick In The Wall being, but it weaves in the original Pink Floyd vocal along with (I think) the original bassline and guitar tracks. Not normally my thing, but this update may actually be better than the original!
